General description of the collection: The Mortimer D. Leggett papers contain two typed letters written by Leggett from Savannah, GA, dated 28 December 1864. The first letter commends Captain Henry H. Boyce, Chief Engineer, 3rd Division, XVII Corps, for his service on Leggett's staff. The second is a letter of introduction for Boyce to the Governor of Illinois.
